Its music, literature, and very specific dance vocabulary are thought to originate from Java of the Majapahit era, at the apogee of the classical Hindu-Javanese court culture. The original recording of this DVD was carried out in 1994, at a time when most of the old Masters were still in a position to participate . It is an extremely valuable historical witness to an era of grand Masters that will never be seen again. A recording that was made in the very nick of time.
